The Empire campaign is locked until the player finishes the Soviet and Allied campaigns. The game features a roughly 10 mission campaign for each faction. There is another one where satellite remains rain constantly from the sky or a mission where you will have to defend against a whole army of Yurikos. Some of the missions are really ingenious like the one where you battle for the Cryocopter technology and all the units on the map are shrunk. If you are really mad, there is a par time with each mission and you can even try to go beneath that, though I barely had the skill to finish the challenges in the first place. The difficulty of these missions range from average to plain brutal and there is no save option so your strategic skills will really be stretched to the maximum.

The goal is to unlock all technologies (finish all missions). All factions start the mode with just basic units and technologies and each challenge unlocks new units and new challenges. You can play as either of the three factions. There you can play 50 missions which are basically skirmish battles with some twists. I am talking about the new mode called Commander's Challenge. Regarding Uprising alone, it is true that the game lost some of its charms since the previous installment, but it is still a quality expansion pack, offering not just new content, but a new way to play Red Alert 3. While true that the story mode in Uprising is worse and much shorter than the already average Red Alert 3 SP campaign, there is a whole new world to the franchise called Commander's Challenge which the reviewer seems to have never played.
